What's the name of my Royal Doulton Figurine?

Help!! I have inherited what i think is possibly a limited edition Royal Doulton Figurine that i would like to research. Byt not know the title of the piece i am unable to find any info on the net using a breif description.....Maybe someone out there is an expert.... it stands 6/7 inches tall is a male figure dressed in blue robe and wearing a red skull cap that completely covers his head and is cut around his ears. Anyone know what it's called it's driving me nuts....:)

Reply:Your description sounds to me like it might be the Doulton "A Spook" HN51B. If it is, it is worth a fortune because according to one Doulton expert Jean Dale, none are known to exist! You might own the only one existing! A Spook has a blue robe which falls to the floor and he has it wrapped around himself, his facial features are prominent (a large nose and large ears), and his skull cap fits around his large ears. You should get a copy of the Charlton Standard Catalogue to compare the photo in this book to your figure. If you could send me a photo at oldemaine.com, I would be happy to tell you if it is A Spook or not. Hopefully it is!
