Should i buy the hoodie?
i already have 2 navy hoodies and i'm thinking about buying a royal blue colored hoodie that i like. but the thing is, i don't have that many hoodies (5) and i have lots of navy/royal blue clothes. should i still buy it?

Summer wedding color?
I'm getting married on July 7, 2007. It will be an outdoor wedding and I am stuck on colors. My fiance likes royal blue and I am also a fan of blue. We thought about royal blue and silver/white. I'm not sure if these are good colors for a outdoor summer wedding and I have brown hair and light skin. (not sure if that would make a difference) I am also stuck on what kind of flowers would go with these colors. I don't really want roses. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

Royal blue tends to be more of a trditional color pick for a fall/winter wedding. The flowers may be more expensive since it's not a typical summer wedding color and florists may think of that. I would suggest maybe going with a light baby blue. This keeps the original blue you wanted but just a couple shades lighter and it will definitely set the mood and tone for a perfect outdoor summer wedding. You can also still keep the silver and white as your secondary colors. It will be gorgeous. Your invitation swill also be alot easier to find in the light blue than in the royal. My wedding is June 23, 2007 and my I chose light pink and brown as my colors. I am basically doing everything in pink and my accent color is brown. I am going for a more modern chic wedding though and that is why I picked these colors. So think about what you want your guests to feel when they see everything. If you want them to think outdoor summer wedding I would definitely go with the light colors. Just remember to try to set the mood. But most importantly it is YOUR wedding and you need to do whatever will make YOU(and your fiance) happy! Good Luck with everything and Best of Luck to the both of you!

i was thinking black tux with royal blue underneath, but i dont want to wear that because i wore that 4 years ago at high school prom with her (she is wearing the same exact dress)
i would just think that if i did the same thing that it would just be the same exact picture (except 4 years in the future)
what other colors would you prefer me to use....maybe different color tux, or maybe different underneath shirt....i just want to do something different.....she said it doesnt matter to her what i wear, as long as it looks good.....she was my gf in high school (not currently w her now), just a very good friend now at college

Remember, you can always change things up a little- if you wore a vest last time, wear a cummerbund this time. If you wore a long tie last time, wear a bow tie this time. (If you wore a bow tie last time, congratulations. Long ties with tuxes are simply a bad idea.)
Of course, you can't go wrong with black accessories.
One last word: don't worry about matching. It's only important that you don't clash.

The bowl is 9" in diameter and has colors of royal blue and orange and yellow floral pattern on it . The leaves of the flower are royal blue wiht gold running thur for the veins of the leaves. The exact writing on the bottom "home beautiful...me217 Canton Fair China..fine china on the bottom line.
I paid 3.00 for this bowl at a thrift store ...Does anyone know anything about this name of china and if i could ad pieces to it ? It is of an oriental design. NO chips it is in mint condition.There is a gold ring around the edge of the bowl .

Clean up children's paint from rug?
My daughter was painting with her seven little pots of acrylic paints this morning. They are all together in one tray.
She had used her blue and left the cap off. She tried to get another cap off, couldn't, got upset, and banged the tray very hard. The blue paint splattered far and wide. Painting ended. The paint washed up from hard surfaces and her.
Unfortunately, it didn't come up well from a rug. The rug has a bit of that abstract painting look now--with splotches and dots of blue paint. Does anyone have a recommendation how to clean this? Water alone just leaves a sky blue color instead of royal blue.

Clean up children's paint from rug?
I have worked in the carpet industry and we use vinegar diluted with warm (not hot) water on stubborn stains. Lots of dabbing with clean paper towel or toilet tissue. Redo several times until you have removed all possible material out of the carpet. Sun dry if possible (ie. in the sun), if there is still color after cleaning then apply pure vinegar with a spray bottle and let it dry on the carpet (ie. don't wipe off). NEVER rub in a circular motion, only dab, if you must rub then with the fiber direction if there is one, ie straight lines in the direction the pile wishes to go naturally, just like patting a dog. Using chemicals is not recommended but there are a few that are good at bleaching the color out if that is your only option then you can always try that at the end.
Reply:Spray some Windex on the spots %26amp; blot well with paper towels. It's been known to remove many things, including paint. Try it on the ceiling too. At this point, it can't hurt.
Reply:Anything you do or may try, DO NOY RUB the carpet. BLOT ONLY. Rubbing will distort the fibers.
Preferably a professional should be called in. When they know what caused the stains, they are usually very successful.
Do not use those who advertise 3 rooms for a set price. Those are gimmicks and wind up overcharging.
If Serv Pro is in your city, very dependable.

Reply:I have a product to recommend, but is not a guarantee that is will get the paint out of the carpet, but let's suffice to say that even if it doesn't work, it won't hurt, and you will be impressed about the other things it can do. However, I request that you email me for more information, as some folks are very concerned about the appearance of some things, rather than the heart of the matter.
As far as your carpet problem is concerned, try everything else that has been recommended, and if something works, then wonderful, but if you have other things that need to be solved in addition to the carpet, with bedding, clothing, or anything that can be laundered, I may have the right thing for you.
Reply:I have found this site to be my most trusted source on that topic. My nephew did the same thing and this is where I got a detailed article on how notto clean it, what to clean it with, and what steps I need to do get the stain out without harming my white carpet
Reply:If the rug is colorfast try using one of those bleach pens to remove it. Test the pen on a part of the rug you don't see first. You may need to use a paint solvent to remove it thoroughly. Another trick is to spray hairspray on it and blot it off, but this may not work on paint that is already dried.
Reply:It's water base paint, so what destroys water? Heat, the only problem with that is it might destroy the carpet, too. But if I were you I would get a hot carpet cleaner and get busy, it will come out water base paint don't stand up lone to hot water.
Reply:try blotting it out with a white towel and some Acetone, it will evaporate but should take it out of your rug, or try some terpentine, paint remover. but use a towel to blot it, dont pour it on the paint. pour it on the rag. Aren't kids wonderful? got to love em.
Reply:There are several acrylic paint removers available at your local hardware store. However, according to Bob Vila, nothing works better than denatured alcohol. This too can be purchased at the local Home Depot. Follow the instructions on the bottle and make sure to use it in the sunlight so that you can determine if the colors on your carpet are fading. I also suggest testing a small area first to make sure that the color of your carpet is not affected.

Reply:I would try rubbing alcohol, 1 cup of water to 1/2 cup of alcohol and see if That helps.
Also I just read that someone used a heating iron to remove acrylic paint. So I was thinking if you took your iron and heated it to warm not hot hot, and placed a folded paper towel on top of the paint, and then placed the iron on top of the paper towel, what you would be doing is melting the paint remove the iron after a few seconds and see if it works, Because acrylic gets hard. If this works take as much as you can off and then take 1/4th cup of ammonia and 2 cups of water and clean the area, blot with paper towel to absorb as much as you can. Hope that helped.

She had used her blue and left the cap off. She tried to get another cap off, couldn't, got upset, and banged the tray very hard. The blue paint splattered far and wide. Painting ended. The paint washed up from hard surfaces and her.
Unfortunately, it didn't come up well from a rug. The rug has a bit of that abstract painting look now--with splotches and dots of blue paint. Does anyone have a recommendation how to clean this? Water alone just leaves a sky blue color instead of royal blue.

Clean up children's paint from rug?
I have worked in the carpet industry and we use vinegar diluted with warm (not hot) water on stubborn stains. Lots of dabbing with clean paper towel or toilet tissue. Redo several times until you have removed all possible material out of the carpet. Sun dry if possible (ie. in the sun), if there is still color after cleaning then apply pure vinegar with a spray bottle and let it dry on the carpet (ie. don't wipe off). NEVER rub in a circular motion, only dab, if you must rub then with the fiber direction if there is one, ie straight lines in the direction the pile wishes to go naturally, just like patting a dog. Using chemicals is not recommended but there are a few that are good at bleaching the color out if that is your only option then you can always try that at the end.
Reply:Spray some Windex on the spots %26amp; blot well with paper towels. It's been known to remove many things, including paint. Try it on the ceiling too. At this point, it can't hurt.
Reply:Anything you do or may try, DO NOY RUB the carpet. BLOT ONLY. Rubbing will distort the fibers.
Preferably a professional should be called in. When they know what caused the stains, they are usually very successful.
Do not use those who advertise 3 rooms for a set price. Those are gimmicks and wind up overcharging.

Reply:I have a product to recommend, but is not a guarantee that is will get the paint out of the carpet, but let's suffice to say that even if it doesn't work, it won't hurt, and you will be impressed about the other things it can do. However, I request that you email me for more information, as some folks are very concerned about the appearance of some things, rather than the heart of the matter.
As far as your carpet problem is concerned, try everything else that has been recommended, and if something works, then wonderful, but if you have other things that need to be solved in addition to the carpet, with bedding, clothing, or anything that can be laundered, I may have the right thing for you.
Reply:I have found this site to be my most trusted source on that topic. My nephew did the same thing and this is where I got a detailed article on how notto clean it, what to clean it with, and what steps I need to do get the stain out without harming my white carpet
Reply:If the rug is colorfast try using one of those bleach pens to remove it. Test the pen on a part of the rug you don't see first. You may need to use a paint solvent to remove it thoroughly. Another trick is to spray hairspray on it and blot it off, but this may not work on paint that is already dried.
Reply:It's water base paint, so what destroys water? Heat, the only problem with that is it might destroy the carpet, too. But if I were you I would get a hot carpet cleaner and get busy, it will come out water base paint don't stand up lone to hot water.
Reply:try blotting it out with a white towel and some Acetone, it will evaporate but should take it out of your rug, or try some terpentine, paint remover. but use a towel to blot it, dont pour it on the paint. pour it on the rag. Aren't kids wonderful? got to love em.
Reply:There are several acrylic paint removers available at your local hardware store. However, according to Bob Vila, nothing works better than denatured alcohol. This too can be purchased at the local Home Depot. Follow the instructions on the bottle and make sure to use it in the sunlight so that you can determine if the colors on your carpet are fading. I also suggest testing a small area first to make sure that the color of your carpet is not affected.

Reply:I would try rubbing alcohol, 1 cup of water to 1/2 cup of alcohol and see if That helps.
Also I just read that someone used a heating iron to remove acrylic paint. So I was thinking if you took your iron and heated it to warm not hot hot, and placed a folded paper towel on top of the paint, and then placed the iron on top of the paper towel, what you would be doing is melting the paint remove the iron after a few seconds and see if it works, Because acrylic gets hard. If this works take as much as you can off and then take 1/4th cup of ammonia and 2 cups of water and clean the area, blot with paper towel to absorb as much as you can. Hope that helped.

hard to do well, unless they are from same collection and dye lot - so will match perfectly. Otherwise, I'd match a bright or scarlet with coffee brown; and a maroon or burgundy with dark gray or black. a pink or rose could go with burgundy pants.
2] bright blue [ Crayola again? ] goes well with navy, grays, and blacks - also a lined white in spring or summer
3] bright green goes well with the darkest green, hunter [ green with black in it ]. Many plain bright greens also go with browns and blacks.
4] yellow goes well with tan, brown, espresso. A softer banana yellow would look best with forest[ blue tint ] or hunter green, navy, gray, black.
5] light gray goes with dark gray , if you add a bright or metallic accent. Medium or light gray go with black as well, with accents.
6] black goes well with almost everything - not browns or some tans [ not ones with yellow tint. ]

Prom is coming up and I have a royal blue sleeveless (2 inch strap) dress. I have open toed sandals to wear with it.
I'm not a girly girl AT ALL so IDK what to do makeup wise.
I have nail polish that matches the dress, along with eyeshadow. I also have clear nail polish, glitter (silver) nail polish, and white/pearl nail polish. Eyeshadow I have a variety, but I'm really good at gold eyeshadow. I have blue that matches the dress, blue, purple, pink, 4 gold shades, and a green.
What should I do?

One of the best things to do is practice. Don’t try that new look the day of. When you practice ahead of time you can take pictures and write notes on what you used and did to go with each picture. I think if you’re wearing a blue dress and have blue/green eyes, you can put a light blue-green (that matches your eyes) on your lid, and put some navy blue in the crease, then highlight with gold. Make sure you have several eyeshadow brushes, something small/medium/large and be sure to blend. I’m nattering on…check out the sites below and see what you like, have fun playing with it.

You could try something with some crystals added on…I also like to use some lash adhesive and put these on people’s face, usually around the eye area…I dunno, just magically extra special... hmm, maybe a clean french with a bit of blue crystals in there somewhere? Each look gives you an idea of how different makeups go together, and if you see something interesting, you can click for more info and it will show you what colors they used. I haven’t tried it myself, but there are links for e-mailing MAC artists and doing live-chat. A bunch of the other sites below offer ideas: all types from subtle to outrageous.
Another way to get some pro help is to go to the makeup counters, make an appointment to try something. If you like it, you can try to recreate it at home, or some counters offer makeup artistry at different rates, you can ask. And sometimes the girls have their own side business too where they do the hair, makeup, and nails if you ask.

Reply:Get a french manicure, it definitely works well. Also for make up, try some fresh look like a pink/peachy eyeshadow, a bit of brown eyeliner, some mascara, pink lip gloss, and you're good to go!
p.s. Don't ever wear black nailpolish or black smokey eyes to prom. Definitely a no no.

Reply:Get a french manicure, it definitely works well. Also for make up, try some fresh look like a pink/peachy eyeshadow, a bit of brown eyeliner, some mascara, pink lip gloss, and you're good to go!
p.s. Don't ever wear black nailpolish or black smokey eyes to prom. Definitely a no no.

Ok so it's been a chaotic week, with finding the right colors to match with my bf. I got this gorgeous yellow dress, our color was originally blue and my bf has a royal blue suit. So do you think yellow tie and yellow vest with a royal blue suit work well together? Any other ideas are appreciated

Reply:If u are planning on going back to blonde u may have to strip your hair which is very damaging. any color over blonde hair gets absorbed to the max and is very difficult to remove. u wont be able to simply dye over it. u may attempt bleaching it to a lighte shade then using a toner to even out any orange or red tones which will most likely remain no matter what u do.try a smoky eye with a navy shadow on the lid to the crease and white to the brow.(never use matte shadows they suck). then sprinkle some silver loose glitter over the navy. black liner always with smoky eyes.use a liquid line to create a catty effect by extending the line outside the outer corners. do a classy french manicure or buy press ons that are already painted.match jewelry to your shoes and purse- id go silver for all of that

You should go here and look at Reese Witherspoon's hair. Dye it that color, i think it would go good with the dress. Also wear white pearls on your wrist, with a french manicure. Eye liner on the top (black) and powder blue eye shadow. Maybe try the one below also, its Jessica Simpson's hair. Hope this helps

i am in 9th grade this year, and my school pic has never turned out really well. i want this one to be really great since i am in high school now. i have medium brown hair with many blonde highlights. for the picture i am scrunching my hair because everyone loves it and says i look really good with it. now here's the background color choices:
- Aqua (ligher blue, but not royal blue, my fave color!)
- Red (deep red, but is kind of dark for me)
- Blue (that royal classic deep blue color)
- Pink (looks sort of warm purpley, but still feminine)
- Purple (deep purple and one of my school colors=kinda dorky)
- Green(deep emerald green, but i have brown eyes so it wouldn't match my eyes!)
- Gray (mostly white if you ask me, and boring too)
-Opal(pearly white!)

For instance I planned a wedding for a really sporty couple and we actually pulled the wedding colors off a bottle of her fav. flavor of Gatorade (like a med purple, aqua, and creams)
I tell all my brides to go to Home Depot and play with the paint chips. Put all sorts of colors together until you find a look that makes you happy. Then, take home a few sets of the wedding colors. They really come in handy because you can take them with you shopping or give them to vendors when you want to color match or see if something goes well.

If not blue, I know lavender works really well with silver and photographs very nicely. You want COLOR in your photos. Another idea that I have seen, have each girl wear a different colored dress but the dress is the same. This is a very nice look that I have seen a couple of brides do.

Colors for December 08 wedding?
I'm getting married in December 08. I plan on using royal blue and silver. Bridesmaids gowns in royal blue with silver shoes, my wedding gown is white. What color flowers would look good with royal blue and silver? I love lilies and red roses but not sure how the red will look. Someone said yellow but I have never been a big fan of yellow. Any advice is greatly appreciated! I will be using silk flowers.

A florist can dye roses any color you wish...so you may even want to consider regular red roses with silver or white roses mixed in.

Color Reconciliation Assistance - David's Bridal?
I'm buying some of my wedding party stuff used. I see David's newest royal blue is called "Blue Velvet". Previously, what was royal blue called through David's. Calypso Blue? Sapphire? Will any of those match exactly to one another? I want to know so when I search for used I can try different searches and not end up with dresses that don't match exactly. THANKS!!!

I love david's bridal- I had an amazing time there and the sales person was so amazing i'm even inviting her to my wedding. I understand that some people have had a horrible time there but that was not my case.
Reply:Fabrics dyed in different dye lots will vary, no matter what fancy name is slapped on by the manufacturer. What David's (or any manufacturer) will do is dye a large quantity of fabric at a time. A lot of factors influence what color the fabric will end up (time in dye, etc). This is why not all blacks, for example, will match exactly.
Because you will be buying dresses made of material that were dyed in different lots, you honestly can't expect them to match exactly. If it's that important to you that they be exactly the same, then I recommend you not only order all new dresses, but have all your dresses ordered at the same time. (Get measurements and payment from all your attendants then go to the shop and order them all at once.) That will help ensure that they are all made from the same dye lot.
Reply:Even if you do find what it previouly was if its cut from a differnt dye lot it could look alot differnt. Even if you were to order all blue velvet but at differnt time it could look different. Your best bet would to bring the previosue dress into the store and see how it matchs. Blues can be very fickel kinda like black where certain blues will look more purple or green but you wont know it untill you see it next to somthing its supposed to perfectly match.

What are the cool shades of green?
I'm a guy who is trying to choose colors for clothes. Cool colors look best on me. These have been suggested: beige, burgundy, royal blue, navy, black, pink (stripes). And I found this description: "COOL TONES are rich, true colors that have blue undertones. Cool toned people can wear the vivid blue red beautifully; add the rich raspberries, deep emerald greens, royal blue, plums or pure black. The softer pastels from the blue range and rose-based pinks also nicely enhance the cool skin tones. Prom Tux Color Help!?
Hello, for prom my date got a little brighter than royal blue dress, it like between aqua and royal blue, its like aquamarine. At men's warehouse, they don't have the vest and tie in that color, so the manager recommended me a black tux, a black vest, a black shirt, and a aquamarine blue tie that will match her color. Do you think this color combination will be nice? Or do you think blue on dark wouldn't be a good choice? Or any other color recommendation? Such as white vest, white shirt, plus a aqua blue tie?

RIT Dye (Help Dyeing Jacket)?
I want to dye a jacket royal blue29- the jacket comes in 2 colors (Navy Blue with black collar and tan with brown collar) I'd like a dark royal blue result but I don't now which jacket would give me the best result

Dyeing clothes is never easy, and dyeing pre made clothes even less so.

Blue Jays, Brewers, Nationals, Orioles, Pirates, Rays, Reds & Royals Fans: How annoyed are you with this?
How annoyed do you get any time you see fans from a team like the Yankees complaining about having a below average season?
All of our teams haven't made the playoffs in at least 10 years, and we have to deal with it year after year, hoping that the success we see might finally bring some relief, but in the end, having to wait another year. Every time a fan of one of these "baseball dynasties" has trouble, they act like it's the end of the world. Why can't they just deal with it? They know that their team will improve. It's teams like ours that we never know what will happen, that we might get one or two good seasons and then, the collapse happens again.
It's easy to be a fan of the Yankees, the Red Sox, the Cubs, and all of the other teams that win year after year. In a way, it's like taking the easy way out as a baseball fan. It can take a truly dedicated fan to stick with one of our teams through all of the bad times and just hope that a good one will come soon.

I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with you:
I am a Yankee fan just for the record, and in my opinion, even though we're the highest payroll in the league, as are most of the 'dynasty' teams, it's not the fans that initiate all this chatter about a sub-par season.. those teams are the first teams everyone talks about on ESPN ... they're the teams that get the most recognition because they have the most high profile players ... they're the teams with 20, 40, 100 beat reporters for 10 local papers and 12 local radio stations ... it's worse off when a team like the Yankees or Red Sox isn't winning because they're expected to win ... don't get me wrong, they should win ... Any team that pays $200 million for a team should win 90 games, but I can't stand how an entire city, an entire section of the country goes into an uproar when a team is a few games under .500 or when a David Ortiz starts the season off 3 for 50 ... it's wrong to just have expectations year after year after year ... these guys are still human, ya know? so no, as a Yankee fan, I don't think I'm spoiled ... I just think I'm very lucky that the team has been healthy, had good chemistry, a good farm system and hard working ballplayers the last 10 years ...
there's too much emphasis on certain teams to win, and that's exactly what's wrong with baseball ... you see it on ESPN every time the Yankees play the Red Sox it's like the rest of Major League Baseball doesn't exist, yet when a team like the Rays find themselves in first place in the middle of May, it's such a huge surprise to everyone ... if the sports channels and the media paid a little more attention to them instead of 'who's leading the Santana sweepstakes this week?' maybe baseball wouldn't be in such shock ...
I think Milwaukee is gonna be there for several years now with Fielder and after signing Braun ... Corey Hart is great and Weeks needs to bring up his average, but he's gonna be big too ... hopefully Sheets stays with them and avoids health issues ...
Dusty Baker is gonna turn the Reds around ... they have good young talent on their pitching staff and finally have a qualified closer ... If they end up trading Griffey Jr. back to Seattle, they'll get some good talent for him ... if Dunn gets going and Encarnacion, Freel and Votto make their contributions, they're gonna be a team in the hunt again this year ...
Unfortunately I can't give much leverage to the Jays other than the fact that they're just flat out in the wrong division ... they have playoff talent on that team and one of the best aces in baseball with Halliday... they have the curse of the twin empires in front of them ... then again, Tampa Bay is in first place ...
I absolutely love the Rays ... they are a force to be reckoned with ... they're young, they're fast, they have energy and they're hungry ... if they finished ahead of the Yankees in the standings, I wouldn't be broken up at all ... first of all, 10 years of suffering is enough ... they've earned it, and they're gonna be a great franchise for years to come ... second of all, maybe it'll prove once and for all to the Yankees that a deep wallet doesn't equal championships .. Tampa Bay is a quiet team, they go about their business and they play ABC baseball ... love 'em ..
I really can't tell you what's going on in Pittsburgh .. Ian Snell and Tom Gorzelanny have been unpredictable, but if they're able to put it together, that's a great front 2 ... then again, that's the problem with the whole franchise, it seems ... their stars just can't seem to put together more than a couple star caliber years ... Jason Bay is a lot better than he's been playing the last few years and Xavier Nady always seems to fly under the radar after a hot start .. if this team can find consistency, the NL Central usually doesn't have a dominant enough team to run away with the title (the Cubs cannot be considered a 'win every year' team ... you aren't spoiled if you're celebrating your 100th year anniversary since your last World Series)
The Orioles, I'm very sorry to say, deserve their misery ... as much as the fans don't, the team does, because their position lies solely on the signing of Albert Belle and the fact that they spited him by trading away all their proven players to make his world a living hell ... I feel sorry for the fans, especially after the Cal Ripken Jr. era where they were such a glorified franchise in the league .. I don't feel sorry for the team though ... you can't let personal issues get in the way of business at this level ... I hope they turn it around one day though because that area of Baltimore is beautiful, has great people and the stadium is a gem .. I'd love to see playoff games there again one day...
The Nats? well, let's just say their first baseman is Nick Johnson, a guy that probably hasn't played more than 100 games in his career yet .. they traded Ryan Church and Brian Schneider for head case and overrated outfielder Lastings Milledge, a deal that boggles my mind ... they gave up great prospects for Tyler Clippard, a Yankee bust last year, then didn't even give him a spot on the roster ... for the sake of our country's capital, I hope that organization wakes up and joins the rest of the league, but their situation is just a lack of research and halfhearted scouting in my opinion ... I thought things would turn around once they left Montreal, but if you're gonna move a team, don't move them to an area where most people are Phillies, Braves or Orioles fans ... you need support ... move to the Midwest, move to New Orleans or something ... Washington D.C. wasn't smart, in my opinion ...
Finally, Kansas City ... there's not much to say about this team ... They paid $55 million for Gil Meche, a 3rd starter on most teams, a 5th starter on a few teams ... If Greinke and Bannister can establish themselves, their hitting is good enough for them to compete ... Alex Gordon, David DeJesus, Grudzielanek, Butler, Guillen, Gathright ... this team can play .. maybe they need better coaching or better publicity, but there's no reason Kansas City should always be in the basement .. there's a lot of potential there ..
I would looooove to see those teams make a run at the playoffs, any of them .. personally, I have to plead you don't attack me for who I root for because I did not choose to be a Yankee fan, I was just raised that way like many of you probably were ... and you know if you grow up watching a team, it's near impossible to stray from them, no matter what the circumstances ... I'm a Knicks fan, I watched them in the 90's, and as much as I hated the team and the personnel over the last several years, I couldn't just stop rooting for them ... so for all your sakes, I hope you knock some sense into teams like the Yankees ... you're what's good in baseball ... youth, energy, enthusiasm, hunger ... you can't help how you've been raised, but something I've developed is a love for the underdogs ... best of luck to all of you guys this season and in the future!

Throughout most of the 90's and now in the 00's, Kansas City has not had a chance in hell of winning a division again. Dollars in a small market make it almost impossible to win. Teams like the Yankees have a few players that make more money themselves than the entire Royals payroll. Johnny Damon, Carlos Beltran and sooner or later, Alex Gordon, Mark Teahen, et al. will leave when they can for the big city and the big dollars
Kansas City is still my team, I have been to one game already this season, it is a 3 hour drive to the stadium. My vacation this summer is 6 Royals games in 6 days, in 2 different ballparks.
Yes, it is annoying when Yankee fans whine. Get over it. Crybaby Hank will just spend another $100 million, so will the Red Sox to keep up and the difference in level of competition will get worse.
Reply:Many of those who start going crazy when normally "winning" teams begin to lose are not truly fans of the respective team. Many of my friends are fans of the Yankees and in 2006 when the Yankees started off horrible many of them began to like the Orioles because they started well. Then the Orioles fell off and many of them went back to the Yankees. I think because they are bandwagoners, they are so insecure about the team they like that they'll overreact to a team on a skid because they don't want to be apart of a losing team's fans. My team in the NL has been the Washington Nationals, and at times it is hard to watch the downfall, but I'm not crying everyday because Zimmerman is failing us.
Reply:Very annoyed. Every year for the last 15 years I've been optimistic each spring and every year the Bucs have struggled. I find myself now getting excited when they get close to .500 (as they almost are now), knowing that they probably won't be there very long. Hopefully the real fans of all the teams mentioned in your first sentence support their teams through all the ups and downs. Teams like the other 3 seem to have too many "fair-weather" fans and only support them when they're winning. Blue Jays, Brewers, Nationals, Orioles, Pirates, Rays, Reds %26amp; Royals Fans: How annoyed are you with this?
I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with you:
I am a Yankee fan just for the record, and in my opinion, even though we're the highest payroll in the league, as are most of the 'dynasty' teams, it's not the fans that initiate all this chatter about a sub-par season.. those teams are the first teams everyone talks about on ESPN ... they're the teams that get the most recognition because they have the most high profile players ... they're the teams with 20, 40, 100 beat reporters for 10 local papers and 12 local radio stations ... it's worse off when a team like the Yankees or Red Sox isn't winning because they're expected to win ... don't get me wrong, they should win ... Any team that pays $200 million for a team should win 90 games, but I can't stand how an entire city, an entire section of the country goes into an uproar when a team is a few games under .500 or when a David Ortiz starts the season off 3 for 50 ... it's wrong to just have expectations year after year after year ... these guys are still human, ya know? so no, as a Yankee fan, I don't think I'm spoiled ... I just think I'm very lucky that the team has been healthy, had good chemistry, a good farm system and hard working ballplayers the last 10 years ...
there's too much emphasis on certain teams to win, and that's exactly what's wrong with baseball ... you see it on ESPN every time the Yankees play the Red Sox it's like the rest of Major League Baseball doesn't exist, yet when a team like the Rays find themselves in first place in the middle of May, it's such a huge surprise to everyone ... if the sports channels and the media paid a little more attention to them instead of 'who's leading the Santana sweepstakes this week?' maybe baseball wouldn't be in such shock ...
I think Milwaukee is gonna be there for several years now with Fielder and after signing Braun ... Corey Hart is great and Weeks needs to bring up his average, but he's gonna be big too ... hopefully Sheets stays with them and avoids health issues ...
Dusty Baker is gonna turn the Reds around ... they have good young talent on their pitching staff and finally have a qualified closer ... If they end up trading Griffey Jr. back to Seattle, they'll get some good talent for him ... if Dunn gets going and Encarnacion, Freel and Votto make their contributions, they're gonna be a team in the hunt again this year ...
Unfortunately I can't give much leverage to the Jays other than the fact that they're just flat out in the wrong division ... they have playoff talent on that team and one of the best aces in baseball with Halliday... they have the curse of the twin empires in front of them ... then again, Tampa Bay is in first place ...
I absolutely love the Rays ... they are a force to be reckoned with ... they're young, they're fast, they have energy and they're hungry ... if they finished ahead of the Yankees in the standings, I wouldn't be broken up at all ... first of all, 10 years of suffering is enough ... they've earned it, and they're gonna be a great franchise for years to come ... second of all, maybe it'll prove once and for all to the Yankees that a deep wallet doesn't equal championships .. Tampa Bay is a quiet team, they go about their business and they play ABC baseball ... love 'em ..
I really can't tell you what's going on in Pittsburgh .. Ian Snell and Tom Gorzelanny have been unpredictable, but if they're able to put it together, that's a great front 2 ... then again, that's the problem with the whole franchise, it seems ... their stars just can't seem to put together more than a couple star caliber years ... Jason Bay is a lot better than he's been playing the last few years and Xavier Nady always seems to fly under the radar after a hot start .. if this team can find consistency, the NL Central usually doesn't have a dominant enough team to run away with the title (the Cubs cannot be considered a 'win every year' team ... you aren't spoiled if you're celebrating your 100th year anniversary since your last World Series)
The Orioles, I'm very sorry to say, deserve their misery ... as much as the fans don't, the team does, because their position lies solely on the signing of Albert Belle and the fact that they spited him by trading away all their proven players to make his world a living hell ... I feel sorry for the fans, especially after the Cal Ripken Jr. era where they were such a glorified franchise in the league .. I don't feel sorry for the team though ... you can't let personal issues get in the way of business at this level ... I hope they turn it around one day though because that area of Baltimore is beautiful, has great people and the stadium is a gem .. I'd love to see playoff games there again one day...
The Nats? well, let's just say their first baseman is Nick Johnson, a guy that probably hasn't played more than 100 games in his career yet .. they traded Ryan Church and Brian Schneider for head case and overrated outfielder Lastings Milledge, a deal that boggles my mind ... they gave up great prospects for Tyler Clippard, a Yankee bust last year, then didn't even give him a spot on the roster ... for the sake of our country's capital, I hope that organization wakes up and joins the rest of the league, but their situation is just a lack of research and halfhearted scouting in my opinion ... I thought things would turn around once they left Montreal, but if you're gonna move a team, don't move them to an area where most people are Phillies, Braves or Orioles fans ... you need support ... move to the Midwest, move to New Orleans or something ... Washington D.C. wasn't smart, in my opinion ...
Finally, Kansas City ... there's not much to say about this team ... They paid $55 million for Gil Meche, a 3rd starter on most teams, a 5th starter on a few teams ... If Greinke and Bannister can establish themselves, their hitting is good enough for them to compete ... Alex Gordon, David DeJesus, Grudzielanek, Butler, Guillen, Gathright ... this team can play .. maybe they need better coaching or better publicity, but there's no reason Kansas City should always be in the basement .. there's a lot of potential there ..
I would looooove to see those teams make a run at the playoffs, any of them .. personally, I have to plead you don't attack me for who I root for because I did not choose to be a Yankee fan, I was just raised that way like many of you probably were ... and you know if you grow up watching a team, it's near impossible to stray from them, no matter what the circumstances ... I'm a Knicks fan, I watched them in the 90's, and as much as I hated the team and the personnel over the last several years, I couldn't just stop rooting for them ... so for all your sakes, I hope you knock some sense into teams like the Yankees ... you're what's good in baseball ... youth, energy, enthusiasm, hunger ... you can't help how you've been raised, but something I've developed is a love for the underdogs ... best of luck to all of you guys this season and in the future!
Reply:I feel you man im a twins fan but we havent gone anywhere in the playoffs since 1991 (world series) and we are in the most in the air, no promises division in the league but we still go through those same changes as you more unlucky clubs do, for instance we dont have 1 single player that was on our roster in 2003
Reply:It's unfair for you to mention my Cubbies because we've always been through hard times and lots of good times too. We have felt these other teams pains and I really feel bad for them. I hate the yanks and it pisses me off when they always say they aren't doing well.
Reply:Im a yankee fan and i will say we are spoiled bastards. We want a championship EVERY year and some of our fans are just bandwagon people that don't really follow baseball.
Trust me, i appreciate fans like you, that ride and die with there team. The true fans out there
Reply:I dont have to worry about getting to the playoff's. I'm a Cubs fan and all the other teams in our divison sucks.(Brewers, Cardinals and Astros.)
Reply:I agree with everything you've said! A little annoyed. I mean..I'm a Rangers fan! They've been a losing team my whole life almost. But I've stuck it out 12 years...they can deal with ONE losing season.

Reply:Yes I agree with you for the most part, but, having been a Cubs fan for over 40 years, how can you possibly include them in a list of teams that win year after year? Fans of the Cubs have suffered longer then fans of any team in any other sport. Can you name me another franchise in pro sports that has not won a championship in 100 years?
Please don't lump those of us who have suffered the most with the spoiled Yankees and Red Sox fans.

Throughout most of the 90's and now in the 00's, Kansas City has not had a chance in hell of winning a division again. Dollars in a small market make it almost impossible to win. Teams like the Yankees have a few players that make more money themselves than the entire Royals payroll. Johnny Damon, Carlos Beltran and sooner or later, Alex Gordon, Mark Teahen, et al. will leave when they can for the big city and the big dollars
Kansas City is still my team, I have been to one game already this season, it is a 3 hour drive to the stadium. My vacation this summer is 6 Royals games in 6 days, in 2 different ballparks.
Yes, it is annoying when Yankee fans whine. Get over it. Crybaby Hank will just spend another $100 million, so will the Red Sox to keep up and the difference in level of competition will get worse.
Reply:Many of those who start going crazy when normally "winning" teams begin to lose are not truly fans of the respective team. Many of my friends are fans of the Yankees and in 2006 when the Yankees started off horrible many of them began to like the Orioles because they started well. Then the Orioles fell off and many of them went back to the Yankees. I think because they are bandwagoners, they are so insecure about the team they like that they'll overreact to a team on a skid because they don't want to be apart of a losing team's fans. My team in the NL has been the Washington Nationals, and at times it is hard to watch the downfall, but I'm not crying everyday because Zimmerman is failing us.
Reply:Very annoyed. Every year for the last 15 years I've been optimistic each spring and every year the Bucs have struggled. I find myself now getting excited when they get close to .500 (as they almost are now), knowing that they probably won't be there very long. Hopefully the real fans of all the teams mentioned in your first sentence support their teams through all the ups and downs. Teams like the other 3 seem to have too many "fair-weather" fans and only support them when they're winning. I'm not sorry one bit that I'm a Pirates fan and I think the fans of the other mediocre teams in MLB aren't sorry they are fans of their teams either!
Reply:The teams like the Rays, Pirates, Nationals, Orioles, Reds and Royals all share in revenvues from the Yankees luxury tax every year. They also share in revenvues generated by ESPN and FOX, and the Yankees are the main reason for this revenue being generated.
So, in reality, if it wasn't for the Yankees, there would be no baseball in Pittsburgh or Kansas City, your franchises would've been contracted.
Stop crying and don't blame the Yankees for your failures.
After the Black Sox scandal, Babe Ruth bought baseball back, and after the strike of 1994, George Steinbrenner bought baseball back, and the last time we looked, they were both Yankees.
