What do you think of a deep blue garter?

I saw a blue garter when I went to try on my gown and thought it would be cute for the "something blue" tradition. It was a rich, royal blue, mind you-- once my groom goes for it, that garter is going to be seen clearly across the room! Do you think it would be tacky to not have a white one?

Very nice. I would just say though make sure you can't see it under your dress, that would be embarrassing lol.

Reply:There is nothing that says you HAVE to have a white garter . This is YOUR wedding. If you want a blue one, then wear a blue one. Or another thing that you can do is wear 2 different ones. The blue one, for the "something blue" tradition, that you will keep as a memento after the wedding, and another white one that the groom will toss. Just put the blue one on your left leg as the right leg is traditionally used for the tossing garter.





Many garter kits now come with 2 different garters. One simple one, and one very fancy one. This is because many brides do not want to toss a fancy garter and want to keep it as a memento. So they add in a second simpler one to toss.

Reply:I live in the UK and very often the "something blue" is the brides garter. In fact my mother wore a blue garter (although they didn't do the garter toss back then) this is really not an uncommon thing, I think some people are way too hung up on the "white" issue, no one is going to speculate on your virginity based on the colour of your garter!!!!!

Reply:Go for whatever makes you happy, one thing I have found in life though is that if you fit something on and it does give you that YES! feeling or you have to ask someone else for their opinion then you are not happy with it.
