What color tux should i wear for college formal??

my date has a royal blue dress

i was thinking black tux with royal blue underneath, but i dont want to wear that because i wore that 4 years ago at high school prom with her (she is wearing the same exact dress)

i would just think that if i did the same thing that it would just be the same exact picture (except 4 years in the future)

what other colors would you prefer me to use....maybe different color tux, or maybe different underneath shirt....i just want to do something different.....she said it doesnt matter to her what i wear, as long as it looks good.....she was my gf in high school (not currently w her now), just a very good friend now at college

What color tux should i wear for college formal??
As I see it, a picture of two people wearing the same thing to events four years apart would be a powerful statement to their enduring friendship. If you want to spice things up, however...

The midnight blue tuxedo is a fine alternative to black, but can be very hard to find these days. The shirt, needless to say, should be white.

Remember, you can always change things up a little- if you wore a vest last time, wear a cummerbund this time. If you wore a long tie last time, wear a bow tie this time. (If you wore a bow tie last time, congratulations. Long ties with tuxes are simply a bad idea.)

Of course, you can't go wrong with black accessories.

One last word: don't worry about matching. It's only important that you don't clash.
Reply:See benefit scene in "Dumb and Dumber", bright colored tux, top hat, cane and a ruffled shirt...i have done this and was the life of the party that night.
Reply:You can do the royal blue underneath because you know that you'll match. I would maybe try a navy one also.
Reply:A black tux and if your going with her maybe a different shade of blue underneath? That way you will match, but it wouldnt be the same suit.

Good luck :) x
Reply:YELLOW!!!!!!!!
