Do you think it's dumb i can't buy a Crown Royal sticker at the Race?

We went to Pocono and i was trying to get a Jamie McMurray sticker and the lady said she needed to see my ID cuz you have to be 21 to buy anything that says crown royal on it.

Does anyone else think that's dumb? I'm 20, and wanted to buy a sticker, not alcohol WTF?

So i had to get a Irwin blue one instead, i love his purple car, it's my fav...

Do you think it's dumb i can't buy a Crown Royal sticker at the Race?
Did you consider having someone buy it for you or would THAT be considered contributing to the deliquency of a NON minor?

Pro: A 14 year old smoking and a 20 year old wanting to support her favorite driver with a sticker are nowhere near the same. Get real!
Reply:Yeah, thats pretty stupid!
Reply:well... I would agree.... they market the product to underage people, but if you want anything from them, even a sticker, they try to play like they are great people and are doing whatever they can to protect the youth... it is all about money and protecting themselves

And to the clown who compared it to a 14 year old with smokes... how is that the same premise? It was a sticker, not alcohol. On another note, you must be excited about going back to school.... what are you going into? 4th or 5th grade? Because nobody with an education above that could ever see things the way you see them.
Reply:Maybe Crown Royal has a company policy that doesn't let them sell merchandise to people below the drinking age.
Reply:Would you think it's right if you saw a 14 year old with a pack of cigs on his shirt?

Same premise.
Reply:They just don't want you to get drunk off of the sticker. It would suck to be in rehab for sticker abuse.
Reply:wow that's dumb. it's not like you can drink the sticker and get drunk off of it. that's a really stupid rule.
Reply:I'm sure its more Crown Royal rules then the law or even Nascar.Crown wants to be able to say they don't market to under-age patrons. While its silly I can see their point and the being able to buy Dale Jr. stuff is a very good analogy.Crown and all the hard liquor companys want to keep their sponserships so they probably go a little to far in some of their rules. This being one of them.
Reply:I think I would have handed the money to the closest person over 21 and said PLEASE. It is a silly rule, but the board of ATF makes the rules.

Go Jr.%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;
Reply:I know it's dumb, but since you're not legally able to drink that's the reason behind it. That's the Federal Government at work, not NASCAR. Have someone over 21 buy the stuff for you, just don't do it near the trailer where they may see you hand the money over.
Reply:It works the same way at the Jack Daniels and any other hard liquor sponsors trailer. The reason is so not to cater to underage fans. I like the Jamies crown royal car to .
Reply:Yeah, that is pretty dumb. It just says the name of alcohol, it's not like it has actual alcohol on it or anything...
Reply:stupid.....why is that?.....do you have to be 21 to buy a dale jr shirt too???
Reply:That is pretty stupid.
Reply:stupid beyond belief, you were not gonna drink the sticker...lol
