Ireland's color - I was told that the national color of Ireland isn't actually kelly green, but royal blue

According to the Irish cultural group New York's Ancient Order of Hibernians, Peter Durkee, "When Ireland got its freedom, its national color was blue," adding that the color was chosen to honor the Virgin Mary.

Reply:Irelands flag has green in it, that's why people think of green when they think of ireland.
Reply:The Colour green for Ireland just associates with the Fields, the Flag etc.


The Blue might stand for loyalty/fidelity.
