I would go with black. My mother (MOB) wore black and my girls wore a light pink color. It looked very beautiful, elegant and it matched with everything. Plus, it is really close to Navy blue, so it should blend well with everything. My mom also found it was a lot easier to find a dress in black.

Good luck :)
Reply:I would just go with navy, or royal blue. Everyone else is wearing it why wouldn't you.....
Reply:Yes, black is in the color scheme!

don't worry you will coordinate nicely!
Reply:Yes you can wear black but you need to soften it with another color. However, if you go with a blue make sure it's different from the bridesmaid dresses.
Reply:I would not choose black unless you want people to think you are making a statement about the marriage. Black is usually for funerals, although some people do choose to do black bridesmaids dresses, black on the MOG looks like you are mourning the loss of your son.
Reply:don't think black is the right choice for many reasons. -you are mog and important so you should wear something other than basic black. -you're going to blend into groom and groomsmen in black. how about something with a purple tone to it? or perhaps something in the greens? this would give you atleast some color, but you can stay dark and not pop out
Reply:It would probably be best to stick with some sort of blue. Black is ok to wear as a guest but I think actually being a part of this wedding it would be best to stick to the color scheme, for pictures and such. Maybe try to find something in navy also?
Reply:I wouldn't go with black being that early. If it was an evening wedding, I can see that. Also when you take pics with your son, the two of you will blend together if you are both wearing black.
Reply:Depending on the time of year, perriwinkle could be a great color choice as well. Or a nice rose/mauve-y color.

My colors were navy and silver, and my mom wore perriwinkle for my October 5th wedding. She looked great and it was such a complimentary color against the navy.
