My bridesmaids (Royal Blue) and groomsmen (gold vest/tie) do not match what should I do?

Our wedding colors are Royal blue, Gold, and Fucshia. I had my heart set on royal blue for the girls, but the tuxedo shop did not have anything remotely close to royal blue, so my fiance ended up ordering gold vests and ties (they had dark pink but he REFUSES to wear pink-ugh). The only thing i can see to do now is to order the blue bridesmaids dresses and maybe find a Gold sash/tie to go around the middle so at least there will be some uniformity. Do the bridesmaids and groomsmen have to wear the same color? If not, won't it look wierd?

Would it be wierd to cancel the gold ties and purchase royal blue ties for the groomsmen to go with their gold vests? Please advise...

My bridesmaids (Royal Blue) and groomsmen (gold vest/tie) do not match what should I do?
There is no rule that states that bridesmaids and groomsmen need to wear the same color. As a matter of fact, I think it would look sharp to have the royal blue dresses and have the guys in gold and black. If however you are truly upset by this, then I see no harm in canceling the gold ties and purchasing royal blue to match.
Reply:I'd suggest going with traditional black and white for the men. That matches everything.
Reply:Stay with the gold ties and vests, and the royal blue dresses. If those are your colors then it will look fine! If you can find a coordinating sash for the girls to pull it together great, otherwise don't worry about it, it should look fine. Don't get blue ites, that will clash. No the bridesmaids and groomsmen do not have to match, they just have to coordinate! So if you use gold ribon in the bouquets, it will tie it all together.

Good luck!
Reply:No, bridesmaids and groomsmen are not expected to wear the same color. Fancifully colored men's formal wear is for high school students and casino employees. Trade the vests and ties for a traditional color (black or white) and all will be well.
Reply:It's your wedding....

I would loose the gold vest and order royal blue ties..

but that's just me
Reply:stick to your color since u av ur mind set on royal blue. your idea of the gold sash around the middle to complement the guys is great. i dont think royal blue ties or dark pink would look great on the guys.in the event you dont get the shade of gold you want for the sashes, your girls could complement the guys gold ties and vest by wearing gold sandals and gold hair pieces/accessories wit their royal blue dresses. av a lovely wedding.
Reply:you love these colors stick with them! you could have the florist dye carnations or mums, for the boutonnieres, royal blue and add a blue hankerchief to the tux jacket pocket to match your girl's gowns.

then add a few trailing gold ribbons to your girl's bouquets to match the boys vests! if your girl's hairstyles would allow for it, you could have a gold ribbon in their hair as well. i know adding sashes to gowns seems to be the current trend but unless its done perfectly it looks like an addition! so take care with that idea.

if you don't want to do any of that then don't worry about it! keep your colors and enjoy your wedding!
Reply:you can always order royal blue shirts for under the vests or just order the girl black dresses with the gold sash
Reply:Where is the Fuschia in all of this??

I don't believe that they should be totally co-oridnated, leave the Groomsmen in a simple tux (no colours). The vests may be an over kill, if you want colour on the groomsmen leave it just to the cumberband, and also unite them by the flowers that the bridesmaids will hold, in the lapel button.
Reply:My girls wore periwinkle and the guys wore silver and it looked very nice. Keep the gold and blue - don't mix the guys vests %26amp; ties though. Stick to 1 color. It will work.
Reply:incorporate the colors in the bridesmaid bouquets...they have some gold additives at flower shops ..u could tie each boquet with a gold ribbon.

or the girls can where gold accessories...gold jewelry..or the sash is a good idea! for the groomsmen have the there boutineers be a royal blue type flower...they dont all have to be exactly uniformed....todays trendy thing for weddings is not being so uniformed..the lil stuff will stand out enuf to make it all go together
Reply:If the gold is a metallic gold color, and not a deep-yellow color that sometims gets called gold, then the metallic color will look great with royal blue. The vests of the groomsmen do not need to match the dresses, as long as they go together. And the blue and the gold will go together. It doesn't seem necessary for the girls to wear gold sashes in order to get this to go together.

It does seem that it would be weird to buy the guys royal blue ties for the groomsmen. It will be an unnecessary expense and probably end up looking weird--much weirder than the issue that you are attempting to deal with to begin with. Just let the guys wear gold and the girls wear blue, it will still look great.
