Is royal blue okay for an October wedding?

I'm really not a fan of any fall colors and we've decided to have an outside wedding the first weekend of October. I love royal blue but my mother and many others keep telling me it's not a fall color. Do you think it would look okay?

I found bridesmaid dresses that are royal blue and could have a espresso colored sash. I just don't know if this goes well together? Or if it would look really bad outside in the fall?

Is royal blue okay for an October wedding?
royal blue is beautiful! but do not get an expresso colored sash, it would tottaly clash
Reply:That sounds so nice! It's your wedding, have which ever colours you like :)
Reply:Any colours you like any time of year are always ok.

But I think blue and espresso will be beautiful. Go for it!
Reply:It's an excellent choice! I'm not a fan of pairing it with that colored sash though - use a prettier color as an accent - something like aqua or hot pink, or if you want more muted, go with rose or peach. If peach is an accent color, it's definitely fine for October.
Reply:I am an event planner and I say, GO FOR IT! It's your wedding! If the color makes you happy then use it. After all you will be nervous enough and the color you like will make it an even more cheerful event. Weddings are changing these days! There is really no limits on what you can do now a days. Here is a great site for your royal blue %26amp; brown decorations to go with everything else. ChurchBows Com. Good Luck!
Reply:Actually, it sounds nice with the brown sash. If you like royal blue, then go for it!
Reply:I think it sounds absolutely gorgeous!!!
Reply:I'm also having an outside wedding in October. My bridesmaids dresses are cobalt blue w/ a choc. brown sash! So I think your colors are wonderful, and go great together..but call me a lil partial!! :) Which dress did you find? I've found a few I like. After Six and Alfred Sung being some of my favorite. I'd love to see what you picked though!
Reply:Okay first and for most, always remember who is getting married- YOU. What you decide you will have to look at in every photo, if you go with something someone else wants then every time you look at that picture you will look at your husband and say ughh hate that color dress wish we would have done royal blue- :-) So I have been doing wedding flowers for 10 years, I have done many many fall weddings, once I did this wedding with royal and navy blue dresses, all the girls carried were bouquets of silk fall leaves. The colors stood out amazingly against the dresses and were a great and inexpensive way to have color but not be traditional roses and flowers for bouquets. Plus it went with all the decorations I did. Fall leaf garland on the head tables, fall silk leaves sprinkled down the tables with pumpkins for the vases for the flower arrangements. Also keep in mind that there is a royal blue flower that you can get in the fall called delphinium. It is really pretty and something that you don't see every day. Good luck and best wishes.
Reply:Ooooo! That sounds beautiful. I'm loving' it!! Do what YOU want.
Reply:I think royal blue is fine for October. Royal blue is pretty much an any time of year color. Tell your mother and others that we had navy blue and silver in June so if we can do that, you can certainly have royal blue for October.
Reply:If you like royal blue than thats what you should have. This is your day (well you and the groom) and you should have what you like.
Reply:You don't have to have fall colors for a fall wedding. There are tons of other things you can do to make it more "fall" if you want with the decorations and flowers. For example, orange flowers would look good a med-dark blue dress and orange is a fall color.
Reply:OMG I LOVE ROYAL BLUE! How sophisticated... IDK there is just something about that color. I'm not a fall color fan at all. Everything is starting to look dead. The reason your mother might think that it wouldnt look good with the fall colors outside is because blue and orange are opposite on the color wheel meaning that when you put them next to each other they can make each other brighter but if you mix the wrong orange and blue it can look like poo. I don't think that the color outside should influence the color of your wedding though! I'm doing purple and it's going to be green outside. Green and purple don't really go together but like anyone is going to put together that the grass is green and my dresses are purple.

I dont see how the outdoors could make the royal blue look bad at all. I love the blue with the brown sashes! That would be so cute! Blue and brown are actually becoming very popular these days! It's an awesome combo (I think). Good luck and congrats! I hope that helped!
